Came up with this after listening to too many sappy songs. Zelgadis and Amelia in classic "Princess and Knight" mode. Even though, you know, they don't quite fit with the stereotype. It's still fun to draw them like this! 
Did this in both photoshop and corel paint essentials. Kind of a conglomeration of things, though I like how it turned out. Though I'm still not sure what I was going for with it originally.
And the title is taken from a line in the first season of Slayers, where Sylpheal laments over the wholly un-prince-like Prince Phil.
Sylpheal: "I thought Princes were supposed to ride on white horses, and be gallant and brave..."
Zelgadis (totally unfazed): "Well, the truth hurts, doesn't it kid?"

The play of light on Amelia's face and neck, along with the emphasis on her eyes and the flow of her hair, combined with Zelgadis's form being slightly faded, his cape billowing out behind him, his face turned away from hers, and his distant, grim, and slightly sad expression on his face.
All these details together create a wonderful image of Amelia and Zelgadis.
Looking at this, it seems as though Amelia is thinking of Zelgadis, and judging by her visualization of him here, she's wondering if he's thinking of her as well.
