A little (humanized) tribute to the newest episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, focusing on Pinkie Pie

I couldn't hep but notice that Pinkie Pie seemed rather... out of spirits in this episode. I mean, obviously everyone was pretty on edge the whole episode cuz of Discord, but even when he first showed up in season 2 she still didn't seem very scared of him or all that worried. She laughed at his weird antics, she laughed about being turned gray (and turned UNHAPPY) and she even took a moment before he was sealed in stone to enjoy the chocolate rain one more time.

Don't get me wrong - I thoroughly enjoyed the new episode.
But I was surprised Pinkie wasn't a little more... excited about the prospect of being the friend of someone who could make chocolate rain (even if it didn't originally include dollops of whipped cream).

And I ship Pinkie and Discord, but that's beside the point.

I tend to like the idea that Pinkie wanted to be the one to reform Discord, and couldn't really understand why she didn't get to do that and didn't end up being his first friend.
Really though, I still think they have plenty of time to become BFF's. I bet he'd enjoy her parties.

Besides the sheer lunacy of reforming chaos incarnate, all I can figure for this ep is that placing Discord with Pinkie for his 'trial period' would've been less civilizing, more 'white phosphorous + gasoline'. And really, even post-Fluttershy I'd want a three-minute head-start to sprint outta range before those two made with the party-brainstorming ("Flying snakes-in-a-can that spit gummi-roaches-no, maple syrup!" "Ooh, good one....").

Anyhow, Glum!Pinkie is nicely-rendered indeed, and your Humancord makes suspenders work.

Heheh, I totally agree. XD As much as I love the idea of them together, there would probably have to be some *serious* restrictions on Discord's power. I don't know if I trust his self control.

Your mistrust seems rather well-founded. On the other hand, I kinda doubt he'd take to such wards/seals/whatnot all that well if Twilight/Celestia/whomever just tried slappin 'em on prison-warden style. Which seems to be where buttering-up via the Six's more empathic types comes in.

Yeah, I agree with you. It seemed that they just badly needed Fluttershy to be the only one who doesn't mind Discord. Pinkie Pie's reasons to hate him seemed... a bit exaggerated

I read a great fanfic where the reason Celestia didn't have Pinkie reform Discord is that she loved him the way he was, and didn't think there was anything wrong with him. Terefore, she wouldn't reform him correctly because he thought he was fine the way he was.
(DiscoPie is my OTP... that and AppleDash)
